Scandinavian cooking is becoming fashionable! Earlier this year, the Copenhagen restaurant NOMA (stands for Nordisk Mad – i.e. Nordic Food) recieved two stars in the new Michelin Guide. Now a new traveling and cooking tv show called New Scandinavian Cooking (in Denmark entitled Smag på Danmark) is telling viewers in 60 countries around the world about the taste of Denmark. The tv series features the Danish chef, Claus Meyer, who is well-known in Denmark as a tv cook and “food entrepeneur”.
Hopefully, the buzz about Danish cuisine will also have an effect on the current Danish food culture that is dominated by pasta, pizza and a lot of pork. Why don’t we eat more fish and seafood landed on the coast of Denmark? As for me, I went to the island Samsø last weekend and enjoyed some superb Danish cooking myself. Take a look:
